U.S. Agencies Partner for Energy Efficiency

October 12, 2005) -- A new joint venture of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is working to cut household energy costs by 10 percent during the next decade.

The Partnership for Home Energy Efficiency will market Energy Star products, roll out new energy-efficiency services, and offer energy savings to residents of low-income and subsidized housing.

The agencies also will work on design technologies and policies to support the production of affordable homes that use net zero energy.
