Great Reads About The Birth of Our Nation

I've been enjoying 1776 by David McCullough which is a great read. I believe it is important for all Americans to understand and appreciated that period in our nation's birth and development. Few history books draw you in and allow you to understand and experience the events from the participants view as does this author in this book. It flows like a novel. I've been reading the eBook Adobe version on my Palm.

For another great read that helps you understanding the thoughts, philosophies, passion and attitudes that occured before, during and immediately after this period, centered around a key founding father, I recommend John Adams, also by McCullough.
